"We go to Granma Sue's Christmas Eve night, open presents, eat dinner, celebrate Aunt Anna's birthday, Zane gets to put the star on the tree because he is the oldest (hmmm, don't know about that one) come home, write Santa a note, put out cookies, carrots, magic key, try to stay up all night, open presents in morning, PLAY with new gifts, family, neighbors, go to Franny and Pappas, open more presents with all the cousins and eat a 26lb GOOSE for dinner."
Well, the story is pretty much accurate (geez, I cannot believe we open presents that many times) until the end, a 26 POUND GOOSE, where did that come from? and he notes it is delicious! Zane has never had goose. But after taking him to see the Christmas Carol, they reference the 26 pound goose, so this may have come into play.
So, Scott, being the father who says we give our kids too much, wanted to give his son a 26 LB GOOSE for Christmas.
We soon realized that they are not easy to find and nowhere near as inexpensive as Turkeys. Pappa did a great job preparin git, and it was delicious, I'm just bummed I did not get a picture before we carved it.
Another chance at opening presents. Asa got a wooden castle that he can paint, he LOVES this, Zane got more books (which he has read all 7 by the time I am doing this post) and some cool Revolutionary artifacts and clothes from Camille in Boston and all the boys got souvenirs form Ajants and Camille from Equador and Peru, love their little jackets and chess set.
And of course, the yearly Pappa gift!
The cousins out on their Nativity story play; it was even better this time with music and story tellling, thanks to Lynette and Scott.
